2021 was the Year of Lucidity, where the fog began to lift, and we started to see clearly through the lens of sacred inquiry. As a collective, we embraced our empathic abilities and faced global challenges like economic inequality, political unrest, and climate crisis with newfound clarity. The future was unwritten, but we began to confront our fears.

2022 marked a pivotal shift, as we crossed the fulcrum point of our shared human destiny. The choices we made in that year rippled forward, shaping the possibilities that lay ahead.

2023 was a year of resonance, a time to attune ourselves to the frequencies that would define the world we create going forward. We were confronted with major life decisions ~ where to journey, with whom, and how. Radical authenticity became essential as we aligned our lives with our true purpose and path.

2024 was a year of awakening and untangling, a reminder that the future was still in our hands, that we had the power to make real and lasting change. It was a time to go deep, face our shadow, put down new roots, and step into the unknown with courage and conviction. 

2025 was a year of navigating the Crossroads, learning that the crossroad is rarely a one and done thing, it's a million little moments, decisions, and choices that together create the pathway and themes of our life.

Now, as we move into 2026, we stand amidst a pile of puzzle pieces. What now? I'm reminded of a Course in Miracles…where are we meant to go, what are we meant to do, what are we meant to say and to whom? This year invites us to journey the new landscape of our collective story. The pieces are in our hands.

The Story Behind the 2026 Mystics Almanac Divination

The path into the 2026 divination was anything but straightforward. As the summer solstice of 2025 approached, my daughter Ember and I prepared to perform the divination for the upcoming 2026 Mystics Almanac. But this year was unlike any before. Much of the spring and summer had been spent in and out of the hospital with my soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Gabby Rose, a magical songbird we've called family since she was eleven. Between tending to family crisis, the last stages of completing the new Mystics Headquarters, and the absence of sacred quiet, it was difficult to fi nd the space to hold ceremony. Ends and beginnings swirled all around us.

The Wheel of Puzzlement

The Wheel is not a map to mastery, but a mandala of becoming. To walk it is to circle back again and again to the same truths, each time at a deeper octave.

At its Center rests the Puzzle—the great work of making meaning of our lives. Around it, the spokes remind us how to turn:

Respite — curiosity and play, the first piece of every puzzle.
Sacred Inquiry — the seeker's gaze that dares to ask "what if?"
Love — the glue that binds the pieces together.
Peace — the willingness to be still, to pause, to trust.
Divine Timing — patience with what is not yet ready.
Create — the art of rearranging, trying again, placing beauty where it belongs.
Mystery — the space beyond knowing, the unseen hand that holds the puzzle's picture.
The Wheel turns not to trap us, but to teach us. It holds us as we hold it.

Collective Invitation

If 2025 brought us to the Crossroads, then 2026 invites us into the Puzzle—into the complex weaving of choice, chance, and destiny. This is not a year for rushing toward completion, but for learning to live inside the questions.

We are asked to:
• Clear the messes and turn over the pieces.
• Dream together, as Gilbert taught, sharing what we see and know in community.
• Practice humility and patience, remembering that not all puzzles are solved on our timeline.
• Find beauty in the unfinished picture, guided by Venus (beauty and love), Lincoln (shamanic presence), and Marcus Aurelius (stoic wisdom).

As Aurelius reminds us: "The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts." Puzzlement is not a flaw but a practice of presence, a way of focusing on what is ours to carry—our thoughts, our choices, our virtues.

Mystery is not a riddle to solve, but a presence to walk with.

The Transformational Levers of 2026

Health & Wellbeing: Discernment — clarity as medicine, choosing what nourishes and refusing what depletes. Discernment is love in action.
Relationships & Heart: Water — the element of flow, memory, and tenderness. Water softens, heals, and connects. It asks us to love generously and to let emotions move through us like rivers.
Prosperity & Abundance: Sun — illumination and joy. The Sun shines without judgment, reminding us that true abundance is found in clarity, vitality, and generosity.

Together, these three levers—Discernment, Water, Sun—invite us to live wisely, love fluidly, and shine brightly, even as we sit with puzzlement.

Water remembers the shape of everything it has ever touched. So do our hearts.

The Year of the Puzzlement is not about confusion but about wonder. It is an invitation to walk The Journey together, to honor Mystery, to dream aloud, and to trust that in divine timing the pattern will reveal itself.

2026 PRELUDE

We arrive at the turning of another wheel. Behind us lie the paths of Lucidity, Fulcrum, Resonance, Possibilities, and Crossroads. Ahead, 2026 greets us as the Year of the Puzzlement.

The Altar card is The Journey—reminding us that life itself is the path. In the East rises Transformation, in the South rests the Altar, in the West we hold Tools clarified by Breakthrough, and in the North the Moon guides us into Mystery.

Gilbert Walking Bull taught that women are meant to dream together, to bring forth what they see, and to turn their visions outward like puzzle pieces laid before the people. This is our invitation: to clear the messes, to turn over what has been hidden, and to dream the pattern into being together.

The Wheel of Puzzlement turns with its spokes of Respite, Curiosity, Love, Peace, Divine Timing, Create, and Mystery. Each reminds us that puzzlement is not confusion, but wonder.

The levers of the year call us to live with Discernment in Health, to flow like Water in our Relationships, and to shine like the Sun in Prosperity.

This year we are not burdened to finish the puzzle, only to walk The Journey with patience, play, and trust.
