THE CARD ON THE ALTAR - THE YEAR OF THE JOURNEY

The year 2026 opens as a threshold, not a gate to rush through, but a pause between breaths. The air is thick with the scent of rain on tilled soil, grief and grace mingling in equal measure. What has been planted through years of untangling and transformation now roots deeper, drawing sustenance from unseen waters. We stand not at the start of a new path but within the spiral of the same great journey, one that invites us to witness, not strive; to slow, not sprint; to trust that even the unseen is sacred. 

This is a year of the Journey, a time to walk gently in reverence for what has already been set in motion. The invitation is not to begin again but to see anew, to rise above the crossroads, the labyrinth and glimpse its pattern from the heights of soul perspective. The medicine of 2026 is that of alignment: inner to outer, seen to unseen, self to Source. This year, we learn that the act of witnessing is itself an initiation. 

Your life is the altar. Every breath, every step, every off ering you make from a whispered prayer to a cup of water set beside your bed is a consecration. The Journey card arrives to remind us that we have been walking in sacred space all along. 

The Altar card, Journey, teaches that the path itself is the temple, and the self who walks it is both pilgrim and priestess. It matters less what you do, and more how you do it. Move slowly. Speak with reverence. Let every small act become a prayer. 

To tend your altar is to tend your life, to bring intention to the spaces within and around you. Your altar may be made of marble or morning light; it may take the form of a garden, a journal, a song, a shared meal. All are sacred.

The invitation of Journey is to remember that every moment can be an offering.

The allies: humility, presence, simplicity, beauty, love.
